Members of the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society, both established and emerging artists, from across the United States and Canada were invited to submit artwork for the 31st annual Best of America National Juried Exhibition. After reviewing the work, 150 paintings were selected for the show, which will be held at the Dana Gallery in Missoula, Montana.

“As always, the quality of the paintings is superior, showcasing the best artists from around the country,” says Patricia Tribastone, NOAPS president. “We are truly happy to meet in person this year. There is nothing that compares with seeing the artwork in person...Our goal for the coming year is to expand our educational resources for our members, an integral part of our mission. We are hoping to add opportunities in scholarships and one-on-one mentoring.”

Opening week events during the 2021 exhibition include a three-day “Painting the Portrait Sketch” with artist Albin Veselka, a two-day plein air paint out and competition led by artist and author Lori McNee, as well as artist demonstrations by McNee, Veselka and landscape artist Aaron Schuerr. The awards presentation for the Best of America show is set for Friday, September 10, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a brief history of the origins of the Society. The opening reception takes place Friday, September 10, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Dana Gallery.
