Aixa Oliveras’ painting Resilience is a personal piece for the artist. She explains, “[It] is inspired by the process of healing that I experienced in my move from Puerto Rico to California, with the botanical pattern of the nightshade flower symbolizing fear and threat and the angel tattoo on the woman’s back acting a symbol for inner strength.” The painting appears in the 33 Contemporary Gallery exhibition The Art of the Nude, which features art from the PoetsArtists community.
