Douglas Castleman is an award-winning watercolor and oil painter who lives and works in Torrance, California. He has worked for many years as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. However, it is his aerospace, landscape and marine paintings that have recently garnered the most attention.

Several of Castleman’s paintings are currently included in the United States Air Force Art Collection, the NASA Permanent Art Collection and are on display at the Pentagon. His work can also be found in many private and corporate art collections. Many of his paintings have won awards in numerous art shows throughout the United States as well as internationally.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge, and a computer graphics and multimedia degree from Platt College in Cerritos, California. He is a member of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, and an Artist Fellow of the American Society of Aviation Artists and an artist member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. Over the last few years, he has had several solo exhibitions in the Los Angeles area.

In 2000, Castleman began teaching acrylic, oil and watercolor techniques for the then Yosemite Association. He currently teaches acrylic and watercolor painting classes for private clients and art groups.
Castleman will be among the featured artists in Art 2026 Tehachapi, an art exhibition and sale on November 13 and 14 in Tehachapi, California. —
