Highlights of the sales and connections achieved from the pages of American Art Collector

April cover of American Art Collector sells to a very happy client of Abend Gallery
“Fate smiled on me, and I was the fortunate recipient of She Wears the Season Softly,” says Lawrence Miller about the Alexandra Manukyan painting that appeared on the cover of the April issue of American Art Collector. Miller is a regular client of Abend Gallery in Denver and keeps up with their shows and newly available works. Miller continues, “This dark-haired sitter was Alexandra Manukyan’s muse—the inspiration and personified force behind the significance of the creator’s flawless and exquisitely humanized portrait. The elaborate applications of artistic realism show great detail, and they are eloquent of the real female model and her accoutrements portrayed. The painting is a rare acquisition, a showpiece that is stunning, captivating and unique!”

Paris scene by Joseph Zbukvic gets scooped up by longtime Principle Gallery collector

I Love Paris in the Springtime was one of the first works Principle Gallery received for early marketing months ahead of Joseph Zbukvic’s solo exhibition in Charleston, South Carolina. “A longtime collector noticed it immediately and purchased it but kindly allowed us to retain the piece so it could be included in the show,” explains assistant gallery director Carson Reeder. “One of three pieces named in a similar manner, I Love Paris in the Springtime depicts the dense movement of traffic and cyclists on a busy Paris day with a spring toned palette. Its accompanying pieces, I Love Paris in the Fall and I Love Paris in the Winter, tell the same story from starkly different viewpoints, both in color choice and setting.”  —
