Affordable Art Fair NYC, one of 18 shows of its kind held in 15 major cities around the world, debuts its spring edition in a new Chelsea location in the Starrett-Lehigh Building. The show, taking place March 18 through 22, features nearly 100 local and international exhibitors, all offering artwork for under $12,000. More than 500 artists will be represented at the event.
Featuring artwork by 500-plus artist priced at $12,000 or under, Affordable Art Fair NYC is curated for first-time and seasoned collectors alike.
“In an art world that can feel intimidating or opaque, Affordable Art Fair’s mission is to make art accessible to all,” says fair director Erin Schuppert. “Whether your budget is $100 or $12,000, there is plenty to discover here. We set our price ceilings in calibration with the fair’s local market and having that price ceiling facilitates transparency, immediately putting visitors at ease because they know exactly what they are walking into.
“From the moment you step foot onto the fair floor, you feel a positive energy at Affordable Art Fair,” continues Schuppert. “We truly want everyone to discover the joy of collecting art. This should be fun! There is no expectation of prior knowledge or experience, just lots of friendly gallerists and fair team members ready to chat with you about the diverse range of affordable art.”

Special programming at this year’s event includes a photography exhibition titled Sight Unseen co-curated by Sherri Nienass, Galina Kurlat and Parsley Steinweiss, as well as other exhibitions presented by local arts organizations Arts Gowanus, CityArts and Trans Art Fest.
The event has a variety of VIP and general admission opportunities including the First Look opening, late-night hours, family-friendly activities, and interactive initiatives designed to deepen visitors’ connection to collecting and living with art.
