Artist Focus: Steve Scheuring

Steve Scheuring is known for his realistic, complex still life paintings. “My work is a means of connecting to fond memories of my past, feelings I’m trying to understand or reconcile, moments I don’t want to lose, my dreams and aspirations, and people, places, and things that inspire me and have formed the essence of who I am,” he says.

Scheuring is on the board of directors and an elected member of the Allied Artists of America. He’s a signature member of the Hudson Valley Art Association (HVAA), an elected member of American Artists Professional League (AAPL), a juried member of the International Guild Of Realism (IGOR), and an active member of Berks Art Alliance, Portrait Society of America and National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society (NOAPS). His work has been featured in a number of magazines and has won numerous awards. Most recently, his painting Tastes Of Home won first place in the still life category in the Portrait Society’s 2025 Members Only Competition. —
