Following the successful inaugural Atlanta Art Fair, the organizing company, Art Market Productions, prepares for another exciting edition scheduled for late September. This year will see over 60 national and international exhibitors, including “regional galleries that reflect the South’s rich contemporary arts scene,” says Kelly Freeman, vice president of AMP. Special programming, such as panel discussions, artist talks, installations and performances, will also be offered.

“Visitors can expect a wide range of work—from emerging voices to established names—across painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media and installation,” Freeman continues. “Whether you’re an experienced collector or new to the scene, the fair offers a dynamic cross-section.”
Local exhibitors to watch for include Day & Night Projects, Dunwoody Gallery, Fay Gold Gallery, Jackson Fine Art, Johnson Lowe Gallery, Marcia Wood Contemporary, Sandler Hudson Gallery, Spalding Nix Fine Art, The Object Space and Whitespace.

Among the returning national exhibitors from further afield are Savannah’s House of Friends, Houston’s Mitochondria Gallery and Milwaukee’s VAR Gallery.
First-timers at the 2025 fair, including leading local, regional and national galleries, include Atlanta’s Alday Hunken Gallery and Atlanta Photography Group, Durham’s Ella West Gallery, San Francisco’s Jonathan Carver Moore, Nashville’s Tinney Contemporary, New York’s Paul Conliffe and Tanya Weddemire Gallery, Palo Alto’s Pamela Walsh Gallery, Savannah’s Laney Contemporary and Jacksonville’s Florida Mining Gallery.
“International galleries will be well-represented, with the participation of Dublin’s Stoney Road Press, Johannesburg’s The Melrose Gallery, Iran’s Fotowat Gallery, Merida’s La Sala Art Gallery, Cape Town’s Uniquity Gallery and Uganda’s Borderlands,” says Freeman.

A highlight of this year’s programming is the inaugural Balentine Prize, presented in partnership with the Atlanta-based wealth management firm. This new award includes an unrestricted cash prize, and honors an artist exhibiting at the fair from the Southeast whose work demonstrates exceptional promise. The winner will be selected by a jury of curators and arts professionals, all announced during the fair.
“In addition to the Balentine Prize, we’re offering a full schedule of talks and curated programming,” Freeman adds. “Our guest curator, Melissa Messina, has selected three abstract artists—Krista Clark and Sonya Yong James, both from Atlanta, and Vadis Turner from Nashville—to create installations featuring new and existing work. There’s a great group of both new and returning Atlanta galleries—a real sign of the community’s support of the fair—as well as national and international exhibitors. I’m particularly excited to see how returning galleries build on last year’s edition, and incorporate feedback from collectors and the community. They always impress!”

Freeman and her fellow organizers hope that Atlanta Art Fair “serves as both an entry point and a long-term bridge for deeper engagement, whether that’s building relationships with galleries, supporting institutions or following the careers of the artists they discover here. We’re thrilled to spotlight Atlanta-based talent while simultaneously offering an experience that feels welcoming, immersive, and totally distinct from the traditional white-cube fair environment.”
