On May 3, the American Artists Professional League’s annual juried members’ online exhibition goes live and will remain on the organization’s website through July 12. The digital showcase features a curated selection of representational art by AAPL members, juried in by Signature Member, Margret Short, an accomplished master oil painter.

Gregory DiNapoli, Southampton, graphite, 22 x 17"
“This show is exclusively for our Elected Artist Members, Signature Members, Fellow Members and Life Members,” says AAPL director of membership Deborah Gersony. “This year, we are proud to showcase an impressive array of high-quality work across multiple mediums, including oil, acrylic, water media, graphite and sculpture. Each submission is carefully evaluated by our board of directors. Juror of awards Margret Short, whose exceptional eye for color and detail in her still life and floral studies, as well as her long-standing dedication to the arts, make her an invaluable asset to this year’s exhibition.”

Thomas Torak, Daybreak, oil on linen, 18 x 24"
Monetary prizes will be awarded for first and second place in the categories of oil, acrylic, water media, graphite and sculpture. Works will be evaluated based on technical skill, mastery of the medium and the emotional impact of the piece.
“While nothing can replace the experience of viewing artwork in person, this online show, showcasing high-quality works, presents a unique opportunity for a much broader audience to engage with the exhibition," adds Gersony. "For artists, the savings on packing and shipping are also a significant benefit!”

Carolyn Latanision, End of Summer, Monhonk, watercolor, 21 x 29"
Among the established artists whose work has been juried into AAPL’s Spring Members Online Show, include Andy Eccleshall, Arline Mann, Thomas Torak, Gregory DiNapoli, Carolyn Latanision and many more.
The show is viewable at www.aaplinc.org, where many works are for sale, and purchases can be made on the website’s Artwork Store. Sold work will be shipped directly from the artist’s studio to the collector. A digital catalog, which can be downloaded from the AAPL website, accompanies the exhibition, allowing collectors to revisit their favorite pieces and artists at their leisure.

Arline Mann, All Those Worlds, watercolor, 16½ x 49½"
“The Spring Members Online Show of artworks in the field of traditional realism reaches a worldwide audience of artists and collectors," says Gersony. "For several years now it has been an important event for our elected artists, signature, fellow and life members to exhibit and sell their work.” —
