A menagerie of artwork will be on display and available for purchase during Susan Powell Fine Art’s Annual Holiday Exhibition, just in time for the season of giving. “The Annual Holiday Exhibition is one of our most popular shows, and offers exciting choices for everyone,” says Susan Powell, owner of the gallery. We’re dedicated to representing the highest quality of contemporary realism art.”

Whether you’re giving to a loved one or treating yourself, the upcoming show is filled with a variety of styles and subject matter including still lifes, landscapes, seascapes, avian art, florals, figurative works and more. In total, 75 paintings by 35 award-winning artists will be on display. Jeanne Rosier Smith, Winter Wonderland, pastel, 24 x 36"

Jeanne Rosier Smith’s Winter Wonderland encapsulates the spirit of the winter season. “This particular painting expresses a true, emotional response to being in nature,” she says of the pastel piece, which depicts a snowy forest scene. “I walk the forest conservation land near my home in Massachusetts year-round, but winter snowfalls turn it into a magical place, full of bounced light and color reflecting off of the new snowfall. A snowy forest always feels intimate, probably because of the muffling quality of the snow, so winter snowy scenes like this one always feel like a gift when I come upon them.”Kelly Birkenruth,  Wrapped in Laughs, oil, 9 x 12"

Kathy Anderson’s Nasturtium and Blue Hydrangea calls back to the bright colors of the summer.

“This summer, [my] gathering of flowers started with the blue hydrangea. Next, I looked for what would be a great color contrast and decided on shades of orange against the blue. Nasturtium leaves are one of my favorite elements to create movement and lead you around the painting because of their trailing stems and beautiful round shapes,” Anderson says. Anne McGrory,  Meek and Mild, pastel, 12 x 9"

In Del-Bourree Bach’s marine scene, Harbor Duet, two boats rest on calm waters. “The summer sundown and extended twilight in Maine create some magical light and shadow, which I love to paint. Here, a sailboat and a lobster boat are at their moorings side by side in Bar Harbor with the Porcupine Islands as a backdrop. A perfect shaft of light catches one boat but not the other, making a nice juxtaposition,” says Bach. “I wanted to capture the feeling of the air that almost shimmers with that beautiful golden glow. It is always inspiring to me.”Del-Bourree Bach,  Harbor Duet, acrylic, 7 x 8"Additional artists featured in the exhibition include Julie Beck, Zufar Bikbov, Kelly Birkenruth, Deborah Chabrian, David Dunlop, Vincent Giarrano, Tom Hughes, Carol Jenkins, Anne McGrory, Leonard Mizerek, Cora Ogden, Larry Preston, Cindy Procious, Deborah Quinn-Munson, Dennis Sheehan, Kyle Stuckey, Katie Swatland and Laura Westlake.

The Annual Holiday Exhibition is on view December 2 to January 28. —
