Lies and Redactions
The Susquehanna Art Museum in Pennsylvania presents a new solo show for abstract artist Doug Navarra. Showcasing artwork completed between 2006 and 2021, the exhibition takes a comprehensive dive into Navarra’s paintings and drawings, as well as his practice of working with historic found documents, bold minimalistic redactions and layered geometric patterns. Lies and Redactions: A Survey is on view through January 8, 2023.

The Artists’ Garden
Inspired by Claude Monet’s renowned gardens at Giverny, THE ARTISTS’ GARDEN at JoAnne Artman Gallery features works by America Martin, Anna Kincaide, Audra Weaser, Isabelle van Zeijl and Thai Mainhard. The show aims to celebrate the beauty and diversity of nature, establishing the concept of an “artists’ garden” as both metaphor and a method of more deeply understanding the world around us. Visitors to the Laguna Beach, California-based gallery can explore this exhibition through January 15, 2023.

Ghost Pearls
On view through January 20 at Granary Arts in Ephraim, Utah, Kristin Posehn’s Ghost Pearls is an architectural sculpture that explores spaces of connection and mediation. The piece, which looks almost like a shimmering, chain-link fence, hangs from a point in the middle of the gallery room. Made from hundreds of pieces of rigid, individually-cut mirror woven into an open, lace-like form, Ghost Pearls is based on research into local and historical forms of lace-making, early digital art and contemporary virtual space. —
