In addition, visitors can expect events and experiences like the Collector’s Preview Gallery Exhibition, Artist’s Welcome Reception, Petite Plein Air Pop-Up, Awards Ceremony, Collector’s Soiree, artist talks and demos and the PaintQuick happening at the Historic Frederick Law Olmsted Linear Park.

The overall mission of the invitational is to “nurture the visual and cultural art education and experience through the art of plein air painting,” says Lillian Ansley, co-founder and chair. “We do this through events, workshops, lectures and demonstrations. Arts education is incredibly impactful, and helps broaden the mind, build confidence, boost creative thinking and problem-solving skills. In eight years, we have seen a significant increase in the number plein air events across the country. I like to think we had a part in growing awareness and interest.”

The festivities will kick off with around 150 paintings that artists will contribute from their own collections, while adding in their plein air pieces as they are completed. These items will all be available for viewing in person at the Collector’s Preview Gallery Exhibition and Sale.
