Beautifully framed and matted under glass. Will be part of a series depicting the importance of family in lion society. Although brothers are loyal to each other, they do disagree and argue. This is from a reference photo taken by Russ Bridges, used with permission.

If Wishes Were Horses
Lana Tyler
Oil on Linen
20 x 16 inches (L x W)
When I saw these girls reaching out to pet the Andalusian Stallion at a show, they reminded me of myself at that age. I wanted to capture the awe and love of little girls towards horses. By not focusing on the faces of the girls, I hoped we could all see ourselves in them. The painting is a compilation of several photos I took of them. The painting is framed in a dark wood, antique frame that highlights colors within the painting.

In A Mare's Eye
Lana Tyler
Oil on Linen
20 x 24 x 1.5 inches (L x W x D)
In this painting, I tried to imagine what a mare might see when looking down at her newborn foal reflected in her eye. My models were two half-sisters that I had bred from my Thoroughbred mare. The painting is a gallery wrapped painted on all sides.

Lion Cubs

Graphite pencil on bristol board
9 x 12 inches (L x W)
Another look at family in lion society. These two littermates enjoy each other's company. Framed and matted under glass.

Mezair
Lana Tyler
Oil on Linen
36 x 24 x 1.5 inches (L x W x D)
I have always admired the Lipizzan Stallions and their riders for the partnership, power and beauty they display. In this painting, I wanted to capture the drama of one of the airs above the ground, the Mezair. This is a gallery wrapped painted on all sides.
