Collector purchases a painting by Barbara Schilling out of the August issue

“Initially, Barbara Schilling’s painting Soft Summer Light caught my eye in an ad in the August 2026 issue of American Art Collector,” shares the buyer. “Her bold style and mastery of values give her paintings a luminescent, dreamy quality I really like. Luckily, the magazine also featured her in its Artist Focus, which is where I spotted An Uncertain Sky. I loved the painting for many reasons and was thrilled to purchase it through her website, along with another one I saw while looking through her online gallery. Barbara was great to work with, and her art is reasonably priced. I received the painting within a week and am very happy with it. I will undoubtedly be a frequent visitor to her website.”

One collector buys multiple pieces in International Guild of Realism’s annual exhibition at Principle Gallery

Two Cookie Buy In, a charming country scene picturing children around a table “gambling” with stacks of cookies by Lee Alban, was part of the highly successful 20th Annual International Guild of Realism Juried Exhibition, hosted by Principle Gallery Charleston in June. The piece sold to a repeat collector of the gallery who also purchased Just 8 Hours Old! by wildlife painter Laara Cassells, and “California Comfort” by Eileen Wong Cervera, whose work has been featured in American Art Collector. “Two Cookie Buy In invites the viewer into the scene and provides a very nostalgic feeling,” says assistant gallery director Carson Reeder. “It is hard to walk away from this piece without a smile on your face.” —
