Welcome to the January issue of American Art Collector and Happy New Year! We are kicking off this year with our Art Lover’s Guide to Collecting Fine Art in Arizona. This destination guide is close to home as our world headquarters are here in Scottsdale.
The Grand Canyon State is brimming with contemporary realism this month. You will find the proof beginning on Page 59 in the many gallery and art show previews we have for you. While everyone else is hunkering down for winter, Arizona might as well have a sign that says, “Come for the art. Stay for the weather.” And you should. We have an in-depth guide for you that will help you plan your stay in Arizona. Our founder, Vincent Miller, chose Arizona for our headquarters because of the incredible contemporary art galleries. January is a great time to come see it for yourself and get a piece of art nirvana. The January 17 opening of Celebration of Fine Art just magnifies the experience here and is another reason to visit. For nearly three months, nearly 100 artists set up studios and gallery spaces where you can watch them create and buy their art. Arizona is the place to be in January.
Our Collector’s Focus this month is dedicated to still life. The featured artists are master painters focused on the quiet power of the genre. The truth is that still life paintings have endless meanings as you will see starting on Page 68. Of course, we have many previews across the country this month. New York City gallery Arcadia Contemporary will be at the LA Art Show this January with a wide variety of works by their top notch artists. From east to west, we have a show for you. Make 2026 a year to expand your collection and let American Art Collector lead the way!
Best Regards,
