Artist Focus: Andrea Harrison

Andrea Harrison’s paintings reflect a lifetime immersed in art and nature. Born into a family of creatives, she grew up surrounded by beauty and craft. Inspired by daily interactions with nature and animals, she translates those experiences into oil paintings on fine linen canvas, in a style she calls “abstract realism.”

Orchydia 28, oil on canvas, 24 x 48 in.

Harrison’s process is deliberate. Before painting, she takes time for silence and visualization, focusing on structure, color and expression. She believes that if a composition is truly balanced, it will hold its beauty from any angle—a philosophy that shaped her most recent Orchydia series. These luminous abstractions appear in paired counterparts, where mirrored shapes and shifting signature placements create dialogue and distinction. Collectors are drawn to their layered resonance and quiet power.

Influenced by Georgia O’Keeffe’s bold reimagining of natural forms, Harrison also draws inspiration from John Constable’s ability to capture atmosphere and light. Through this dialogue between past and present, she forges a contemporary vision uniquely her own. Her artwork recently earned awards and recognition in international competitions and, this fall, her reach expands with a striking billboard in a prime Los Angeles location—the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Gramercy Place—marking a new milestone in her career. Harrison’s work will be featured on the Hollywood Crossing billboard from October 20 through December 14. —
