Rookery by Gilbert Gorski was featured in the October 2024 issue of American Art Collector, in which Gorski’s 2024 solo exhibition Painting Trees at Principle Gallery was covered. “This was one of the most popular paintings in the show and a local artist came in looking for a painting to go in his wife’s office,” shares gallery assistant director Taylor Chauncey. “They decided to take it on approval, so we delivered it, and it looked absolutely beautiful in their space. What particularly sold them on the painting was that it reminded them of the Glenstone Museum, which is a private contemporary art museum based in Potomac, Maryland.”+++

Deborah Scott’s painting Aliya appeared in American Art Collector in a preview of an online show presented by 33 Contemporary Gallery and PoetArtists with the theme Artists Painting Artists, and recently sold to a collector. Scott painted the piece upon returning from a trip to Paris where she had the opportunity to study the works of great artists, drawing inspiration from the works of Jules Bastien-Lepage and Paul Cezanne. “During my multiple visits to the Musée d’Orsay, I studied Haymaking by Bastien-Lepage and Madame Cezanne by Cezanne, which influenced my painting. My goal was to capture the youthful expression found in the central figure in Haymaking, while also incorporating the warm and cool colors used by Cezanne in Madame Cezanne to articulate the form and space of the figure. These subtle yet meaningful influences worked in harmony with my unique voice as an artist.”+++
