Principle Gallery sells a cityscape by Lindsey Kustusch featured in the November issue
The sale of Morning in Russian Hill was the first sale for Lindsey Kustusch in the joint cityscape exhibition Principle Gallery hosted at their Alexandria, Virginia, location in November. The show included various cityscapes by Kustusch and her husband, Nate Ross, that were featured in that month’s issue of American Art Collector. “The gentleman who purchased this painting lived in San Francisco, and specifically on Steiner Street, which is beautifully depicted in this painting,” explains the gallery’s assistant director Taylor Chauncey. “…Morning in Russian Hill is so well painted and encapsulates the identity of San Francisco so clearly that the area is instantly recognizable…You can also feel the love Lindsey has for the city through the care and detail in each brushstroke. Whether it’s the perfect slant of the street, the sharpness of the buildings, or the contrast between the shade and sunlight; there’s unmistakable devotion to the city that holds so many of her memories.”

Three works by Victor Gadino fly out of 33 Contemporary’s Palm Beach showroom
Victor Gadino’s paintings were included in 33PA’s online show Space Cowboys and featured in a preview of the exhibition in the December issue of American Art Collector. Of all the works in the group show, Gadino’s Captain Dale Arden, Ms. Project Mercury and Space Cadet Betty were the only pieces that were in 33 Contemporary’s showroom in Palm Beach, Florida. Regular 33 Contemporary and 33PA collectors happened to see them and scooped them up on the spot—before the show was even up on Artsy.

Popular landscapist Andrew Orr finds repeat collector through Rehs Galleries
“In November, one of our valued clients from Texas purchased Andrew Orr’s painting Autumn in all its Glory,” says gallerist Howard Rehs. “Over the years, this collector has acquired numerous contemporary and historical works, including several by Andrew. Initially, he discovered the painting through the ‘Reveal’ video we posted on social media and considered adding it to his collection. When he realized it was on display at the Winnetka Show, he contacted us immediately and we took it off the wall for him! We’ve proudly represented Andrew Orr for several years, selling nearly 40 of his paintings,” continues Rehs. “Many of his works sell within a day or two of arrival. In our view, he is among the finest academic landscape artists of our time. His paintings truly speak for themselves.”

Senior living center adds landscape by Erwin Lewandowski to its collection
“Erwin Lewandowski sent me an email about three years ago with photos of a few of his colored pencil compositions,” shares Mary Williams, owner of Mary Williams Fine Arts. “When I saw them, I literally went straight to the telephone and called him to say we wanted to represent him. His work has been extremely well received in our Boulder gallery, and representing him is a pure pleasure as he is as lovely as his work. The partnerships with the men and women we represent make being in the fine art industry deeply rewarding. The piece featured here, was sold for the entranceway of a high-end senior living campus. —
