1 RJD Gallery sells painting by Allen Egan after his work appeared in the  September issue
Allen Egan’s narrative, magical surrealist paintings were featured in the September issue of American Art Collector in advance of an exhibition at RJD Gallery in Romeo, Michigan. “A repeat RJD art collector received their American Art Collector and our E-blast the same week,” says gallery owner Richard J. Demato. “Inside both, they saw the work of Allen Egan and fell in love with The Audience. They jumped on this one! Ironically, this work is the first piece I brought into the gallery from the artist. It was my favorite of his and indicative of his [style].”

After a preview of her show at George Billis Gallery was published in the August issue, artist Missy Savard contacted American Art Collecotr to say how much she appreciated the ad and editorial coverage. As a result of the article, two of her plein air paintings were immdediately purchased through the gallery, Monhegan Office and Moonrise 2. "As soon as we saw the article, we saw the two paintings and knew we had to have them," share the Fairfield, Connecticut, collectors, who bought the works as upcoming birthday and anniversary gifts. Savard is known for her scenes of the eastern seaboard, New England and Europe, and paints primarily on site. The artist says, "I am looking for an authentic representation to express the spirit and essence of the moment, and to distill the complexities of being outside [into]…a feeling of calm.”

3  Collector buys Susan Lim painting seen in the October issue
Each month, 33PA, an online platform and art community providing publishing and marketing opportunities to artists, presents a themed group exhibition on Artsy.net. Here at American Art Collector, we often cover their shows, which feature established and emerging artists from around the world with a focus on figurative works. 33PA and member artists have seen great success as a result of this coverage, with works selling often and swiftly. October was no different when an underwater scene by Susan Lim sold to one 33PA’s regular collectors who is also a subscriber of this magazine. Serenity, comes from the artist’s Immersive series. About the piece, Lim says, “In a world where we are exposed to so much stimulation in our day-to-day activities, with so much stress and hustle and bustle, it’s a relief to escape and be somewhere we can relax and breathe, away from it all.”

Leah Giberson, Morning Loungers, acrylic and mixed media on panel, 16 x 16". Courtesy Rubine Red Gallery, Palm Springs, CA.

4  Hyper-realistic work by Leah Giberson finds a home through Rubine Red Gallery
Whether painting East or West Coast scenes of suburbia, Leah Giberson distills her subject matter into the clean, crisp lines of its essence. Rubine Red Gallery in Palm Springs, California, recently sold Giberson’s tightly-rendered painting Morning Loungers, to a collector. “Giberson takes her inspiration from the mid-century vibe of Palm Springs and the boundless architecture, cars and trailers that adorn the streets,” says gallery owner Jason Howard. “Giberson’s photographic-level, acrylic realism includes deliciously hidden layers of painted paper that creates eye-fooling shadows and an unmatched depth.”  —
