“Growing up in India, my parents introduced me to the power of truly discovering oneself,” says Australia-based artist Priya Gore. “At a very early age, I got well acquainted with understanding my weakness, my strength [and] who I am. Why am I on this planet? What role do I want to play? I try to express the layered aspects of human relationships through beautifully vibrant wildlife paintings.”

Sunflower Bliss, acrylic on canvas, 40 x 40"
Working with acrylics, Gore primarily paints lush, dynamic scenes of birds and botanicals in their natural habitats. “Australian rainforests offer an abundance of natural wonder. My life revolves around the exploration of nature’s intricacies that are often hidden in the obvious and intertwining them with human emotions and understanding of life expressed in [the] form of a tangible piece of artwork,” she says.

Spectrum of Love, acrylic on canvas, 40 x 60"
Her acrylic on canvas Sunflower Bliss, depicting a family of blue birds perched on golden blooms, is reminiscent of the artist’s childhood spent in the sunflower fields on her village farm with her family and loved ones. Another painting, Beautifully Resilient, aims to capture “the sanctuary of solitude [through which] we recharge our spirits, enabling us to bring the best of ourselves to the partnership, creating a bond that’s not only solid but also beautifully resilient.”
