Spectrum and Red Dot
Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami celebrated an international showcase in classic, contemporary and fine art during Miami Art Week at Mana Wynwood Convention Center this past December 6 to 10. The five-day international presentation was a major success throughout the art world. The Opening Night Preview saw thousands of the world’s most affluent art dealers, collectors, artists, gallery owners and curators with works by the more than 1,000 artists showcased by over 280 exhibitors from 27 countries around the world. “This year’s fairs were a real testament to how resilient and strong the art world has been,” says Eric Smith, president of Redwood Art Group.

Colorito
On view this spring, JoAnne Artman Gallery is hosting the exhibition COLORITO, featuring new works by Colombian-American artist America Martin, who currently resides in Los Angeles. “A term usually applied to 16th-century Venetian painting where color is employed in a dominant manner, colorito, or ‘coloring’ was deemed fundamental to conceiving painted images charged with the look of life,” the gallery notes. “America Martin’s modern interpretation includes not only judicious color application, but the vitality and vigor of the world around her as she continues her unmistakable aesthetic sensibility.”
