Art Show / Fair Previews

A New Look

Art Palm Beach returns to South Florida with new programming along with stunning contemporary masterpieces.

For this year’s winter art show, Art Palm Beach, patrons can expect to see some exciting changes as part of the new ownership of the Palm Beach Show Group—who also produce the prestigious LA Art Show. Held in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, the show will have a cutting-edge lineup that includes over 80 prominent galleries showcasing the work of contemporary, modern and emerging artists of the 20th and 21st-centuries. Morten Lassen, Paper 56, oil and spray on paper 25 x 19¾." Galleries featured include the likes of Fremin Gallery, Steidel Contemporary, Galerie Fledermaus, Adamar Fine Arts, Contessa Gallery, Rebecca Hosssack Gallery, AiBo Gallery, Eckert Fine Art, Gladwell & Patterson, Provident Fine Art and many others.

“Before Art Palm Beach’s acquisition by Scott Diament and Rob Samuels of the Palm Beach Show Group, the fair was organized by IFAE founders Lee Ann & David Lester, the original founders of both Art Miami and Art Asia Hong Kong,” explains Kassandra Voyagis, the producer and director of the show. “Building on the successes of the past and the current stellar reputation of the LA Art Show, this fair will provide an exceptional forum for gallery presentation in front of the affluent demographic of collectors in the vibrant cultural hub of South Florida.”Didem Yagci, Horizon, convex layered wood panels with acrylic paint, 47." Voyagis continues, “We will be creating a new and completely revamped Art Palm Beach,” “Under our leadership we will be taking this show in a new and exciting direction marrying both fairs…With a focus on both coasts and an international profile, it is a thrilling prospect to facilitate another blue-chip event in one of the world’s most culturally sophisticated and affluent cities.”

One such exciting change to the art fair is a platform with a rotating group of art institutions named DiverseART, presenting in South Florida for the first time. The group engages local communities by generating innovative ideas and driving social change through art. “Renowned art curator Marisa Caichiolo and international artists like Marcos Lutyens will be in attendance, focusing on immersive art experiences [pertaining to climate change],” Voyagis says. “Lutyens’ forward-thinking artwork focuses on consciousness and disrupting patterns of thinking, associations and ways of existing in the world through exhibitions and performances.”Gregoire Devin Ferrari, In Progress, acrylic and oil pastel on canvas, 48 x 48." Another first, is a local partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, where 15% of ticket proceeds from the show will go toward the organization. This also includes proceeds from the Opening Night Premier, a red-carpet affair on Wednesday, January 25 from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will have live music, drinks, a first look opportunity to view and purchase art, as well as unlimited admission throughout the weekend. Celebrity appearances are also expected and will be announced to the public closer to the show opening.

Following the premier, Art Palm Beach will run through January 29 with tickets available for purchase online, where additional details are also provided. —
