Realism Collection Continues to Grow
In February 2021 issue of American Art Collector, the Arts District Liberty Station in San Diego, California, placed an advertisement and were featured in our annual Art Lover’s Guide to Collecting Fine Art in California. The advertisement and editorial included the work of Lisa Bryson who is represented by Veltz Fine Art, which is in the arts district. The gallery’s mention made note of the artist’s solo show in April 2021 that also was covered in a later issue of the magazine.
Prior to the opening reception of the solo exhibition, and due to the advertisement in the February 2021 issue, Bryson sold one of her works in the show—Homage V (Lovejoy). “Collectors Steven A. Bennett and Elaine Melotti Schmidt reached out to me in response to the ad and purchased a work,” says Bryson. “This added great excitement for what turned out to be a great show. The advertisements in American Art Collector work!”
The Bennetts are recognized for their collection of realism works by some of the leading women artists of the past and present. Bryson’s style blends realism and abstraction that comes to life by her moving paint with palette knives, cement trowels and using a paintbrush for the fine details. —
