For more than two decades the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association has been hitting the streets of Laguna Beach, California, for its annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational. During the festivities, award-winning artists set up around town to paint the sights and participate in a series of events leading up to a show and sale. This year’s show, happening October 2 through 10, will include in-person and livestreamed components (happening Pacific Time), allowing people worldwide to participate.

Among the 35 artists who will paint the town this year are Suzie Baker, Carl Bretzke, Gil Dellinger, Donald Demers, Bill Farnsworth, Debra Huse, Jim McVicker, Shuang Li, Scott W. Prior, Michael Situ and Barbara Tapp.
The festivities will begin on October 3 with the Heisler Park Quick Draw Painting Competition, which will be live streamed from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a meet and greet with the artists at the Festival of Arts venue from 4 to 5 p.m., and the silent auction for the works created during the competition beginning at 5 p.m. On October 4 will be a kids day of art, where they are able to learn and watch the artists paint. October 4 will be the Plein Talk with the Artists and October 6 is the Plein Talk with the Experts, with a conversation and Q-and-A happening live and online from 6 to 7:30 p.m. both days.
