In 2019 Market Art + Design hosted its largest fair to date, and after a postponement in 2020 due the pandemic, the 2021 edition is seeing a renewed sense of community with many local Hamptons dealers coming on board to participate. Returning to a museum-quality pavilion on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Museum, this 11th edition will include 80 galleries focusing on modern and contemporary artwork.
Along with the dealer booths, Market Art + Design includes special exhibitions, installations and lectures. Courtesy Art Market Productions.
Among the exhibitors are Mark Borghi, CAM Galeria, MM Fine Art, Marloe Gallery, Jerald Melberg Gallery, Timothy Yarger Fine Art, Vertu Fine Art, Sponder Gallery, Galerie Fledermaus, Julie Keyes Gallery, Taylor | Graham and DMD Contemporary. Paired with the dealer show will be a program of partnerships and public projects.

The artwork in the fair is particularly varied with everything from sculpture pieces to fine art paintings available to collectors. It ranges from high-detail representational artwork to surrealism and expressionism, as well as from historic to contemporary. MM Fine Art, located in Southampton, New York, will present art from Bo Bartlett, Andrew Wyeth, Rainer Andreesen and Susan Grossman. Galerie Fledermaus, a Chicago-based gallery known for symbolist and expressionist artworks, will display pieces by Soey Milk and Clement Massier. Among the art from Charlotte, North Carolina-based Jerald Melberg Gallery will be bold and graphic works by Robert Motherwell, Esteban Vicente and Brian Ruttenberg.

For 2021 the fair will have wide aisles and generous public spaces that allow attendees “to step back and absorb the immense artistry,” while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. A complete list of health and safety guidelines is available through the show website.
