July 31 through September 17 Tree’s Place in Orleans, Massachusetts, will host its Summer Salon II, with a range of artwork in styles from select represented artists. Mike Donovan, gallery owner, says, “They are all perennial favorites with our collectors and this work is reflective of many scenes on Cape Cod.” Included in the show will be artists such as Rob Bolster, Marieluise Hutchinson and Antonia Tyz Peeples.
Marieluise Hutchinson, Salt Air Farm, oil on panel, 14 x 18"
Bolster’s artwork is a call to the ocean with everything from boats and beach pathways depicted in his paintings. He also paints fishermen and shores—all in detail that is reflective of his illustration background, but also with a flare of artistic composition and finite techniques. His square series is also popular, where Bolster paints a mosaic with each different segment with variations in the palette.
Rob Bolster, Pond Puppy, oil on board, 11 x 14"
Hutchinson’s Salt Air Farm is just one of her charming seaside scenes in the exhibition. The artist is long known for her barns and homes that show intimate moments through the windows and personal touches that allow the collector to explore the view further. They often reflect Americana as well. Explaining the painting, she says, “Salt Air Farm is an old farmstead by the sea on the coast of Maine. It tugs at my heart to see these relics of days gone by vanish from our American landscape.”
Antonia Tyz Peeples, Summer Vibes, oil on linen, 36 x 48"
In her artwork, Peeples paints dynamic views of waves that are referenced from images provided to her courtesy of surf and ocean photographer Matt Bucelli. The roaring and receding, capturing the essence of the ocean in all its glory. Peeples says, “I love the ocean in all its seasons, but the energy and light of summer waves always have such positive energy.” Donovan adds, “Her wave paintings and water surface works are both stunning and powerful to view.”
