Captivating Portrait

In the August issue of American Art Collector, artist Chantel Lynn Barber was featured in an Artist Focus with three of her newest paintings displayed. Barber is recognized for her dynamic portraits and figurative pieces that blend realism and impressionism, as well as having signature design elements and color palettes. Often she paints on a small scale, and even sometimes creating miniature portraits measuring only a few inches. Her 4-by-4-inch painting Calling On Hope, which was included in the article, resonated with collector and gallery owner Donna Krueger of dk Gallery in Marietta, Georgia.

Krueger wrote to Barber about the work, “I am a gallery owner and avid art collector as well. I love American Art Collector magazine and cannot wait to devour it each month. When I saw your piece in a recent issue, I had to have it! I have a small powder room where I hang my ‘face’/portrait collection. Your piece will find a beautiful space there! So glad to have found you! Your work is compelling!” —
