As working contemporary artists, many turn to art organizations for camaraderie, support and ways to showcase their work. Over the years we have featured pieces by many artists who are members of Oil Painters of America, Portrait Society of America, International Guild of Realism, American Impressionist Society, Plein Air Artists Colorado and American Women Artists, to name a few. These groups are champions for the artists as well as for the entire art market by providing juried exhibitions where collectors can find and purchase new works. Typically, the events are hosted at galleries, museums and art centers, and the artists vie for a number of awards and earn further recognition for their artwork. Let’s take a look back at some of the juried paintings that have been featured in our magazine over the years. —
